Let’s pray for peace in Israel, Palestine — Oluwo charges world leaders

The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdurosheed Akanbi has urged world leaders to pray for peace in Israel and Palestine for global harmony, appealing to the warring countries to respect humanity by embracing peace.

He also called on world power nations to mediate in the ongoing internecine in the Middle East countries in the interest of the vulnerable citizens, who have become the collateral damage in the crisis.

Oluwo in a statement made available to newsmen by his media aide, Alli Ibraheem on Tuesday in Osogbo, beseeched the leaders of the two countries most especially Israel to act elderly to spare innocent children, nursing and pregnant women with no strength to either defend or run for dare lives.

It reads: “It is time for the world to unite, organise a day prayer and fasting for peace and harmony between Palestine and Israel.

“The magnitude of collateral damage is huge and unquantifiable. Vulnerable children, nursing and pregnant women are not spared. The casualties are majorly innocent people who didn’t ask for war. Lives have gone. Orphans have multiplied. Many families have completely perished.

“The Palestine and Israel war is a damage to the world. The world powers are enjojned to mediate and not fuelling the ember of discord. All humans on earth are products of Adam and Eve (Awawu). We are one blood and one family. Any war against our fellow is a war against ourselves. Let’s embrace peace in respect of human lives and humanity.

“Wars knows nobody. It’s destructive and an enemy to humanity. I appeal to the warring states to honour human lives and humanity. The war can be managed by ensuring only the culprits/perpetrators of evil are dealt with. The extent of destruction is worrisome. I am begging and appealing for a ceasefire. The world should agree on a day for prayers and fasting for peace and harmony between the two countries”.

VANGUARD.
